Bert retired in 2018 and has been splitting his time between Vallarta and Ruston WA. USA. His working career as a Certified Public Accountant included 6 years with an international auditing firm and 34 years as Vice President, Finance and CFO of a privately held company in Seattle. 

He has served as an Employer Trustee for Teamsters Local 117 Health and Welfare Plan, the Seattle University Alumni Board of Governors, Treasurer of Seattle’s SODO Business Improvement Area (BIA) ratepayers advisory board, and various positions in Rotary (2010-2018). Since 2022 he has served as Treasurer for the IFC. Bert enjoys supporting the communities he lives in, both hands on and financially.
