Deborah Cole is a photographer, writer, and storyteller who divides her time between Austin, Texas, and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Her work centers on women’s lives, resilience, and the often-overlooked stories found in everyday moments. With almost four decades as the owner of a commercial services firm and a longtime advocate for women entrepreneurs, Deborah brings both empathy and lived experience to her documentary and street photography.
Her images have been featured in juried exhibitions in Austin, Houston, Dallas, and New York City. She is a contributor to Street Photography Magazine and the author of Letting Go: How Less Becomes More, SHE: Believed She Could So She Did, and Black Women in Business: Journeys in Resilience. Her books blend photography and narrative to highlight women forging their own paths through change, challenge, and reinvention.
Deborah’s current projects explore both the extraordinary and the everyday in Mexico, using images and words to illuminate quiet strength, cultural shifts, and the stories that often go unseen. Her upcoming book, Between Two Worlds, will be released in late 2026.
